I’ll be playing a song at WayneStock next month as part of “The Departed” celebration, but I’m not gonna tell what song it is – you’re gonna have to come out and see for yourselves! We lost too many beautiful artists in 2016. Really looking forward to seeing you all at the best Knoxville gathering there is.
The band and I are looking forward to sharing the stage with Paul Thorn
again on Friday the 4th at the Bijou Theatre. We opened for Paul back in August at The Shed and had a great night with him, his band, and his fans. Make sure to check out the Shows page for ticket info and more details.
October finds the band and I in the studio wrapping up a few recordings for a project I plan to have out by the end of the year. If you’ve caught a recent live show you’ve already heard a few of the new songs. Stay tuned for more info!
On Friday the 28th the boys and I will be playing the last of four Tim Lee 3 Rock & Roll Happy Hour October Residency at The Pilot Light in the Old City. This show will also be TL3’s 10th Anniversary / Record Release Show, celebrating the release of their 5th full-length studio record, “Tin, Man,” and featuring sets from Caps and Brandy Zdan.
These are early shows… you asked for ’em… so come support ’em.
AAAALL OF THEM!
A last minute addition to the September calendar…
Po, Mike and I will be opening for our friends Marc Higgins & the Chainsaw Bears at The Upstairs Bar in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Friday the 30th. I’ve visited Spartanburg a couple times recently, but it’s been two years since we played there, so come on out and hear the new tunes why don’t ya?
After a couple months of acoustic shows, the band and I enjoyed kicking things back into gear in August, but September finds me with one acoustic show and a couple other shows playing guitar with one of East Tennessee’s finest.
Friday the 9th I’ll be opening for Ty Hager and his band The CowTippers at Bobby’s Idle Hour in Nashville. It’s been awhile since Ty and I have done a show together so I’m really looking forward to spending some time with my old friend.
And speaking of old friends, I’ll be playing guitar with Mic Harrison And The High Score at Preservation Pub in Knoxville on Friday the 16th, then again the next night at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion! Been lookin’ forward to this all summer!

We’ve got a couple great shows coming up this month…
Saturday the 20th we’ll be playing the 8th Annual Smokin’ Day Fest at Sweet P’s Barbeque & Soul House on Maryville Pike with Cedric Burnside, Beth McKee and Laura Blackley.
Then the following Saturday we’ll be down in Maryville opening for Paul Thorn and his band at The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint! It’s been a couple years since we’ve played The Shed so we’re really looking forward to getting back down there to see all our Blount County friends.
Summer’s finally here… y’all stayin’ cool? Keepin’ hydrated? Don’t forget your sunscreen. Don’t forget our upcoming July shows!

Later in the month, our friends from central Ohio, Jeff German and Todd May, will be coming down for a trio of acoustic songwriters-in-the-round shows starting in Knoxville on Thursday the 21st at The Open Chord. Friday the 22nd we’ll be at The Acoustic Coffeehouse in Johnson City, then we’ll wrap it up in Athens, GA on Saturday the 23rd opening for The Lanes at Hendershot’s Coffee. We’ve been looking forward to these shows for awhile! For more info make sure to click on over to the Shows page.

Okay… one last Shapeshifters post… only because we’ve had a few folks ask. The entire album is available to stream and download on my Bandcamp page. Just click on the album cover below and it’ll take you there. THANKS!
Here’s one last track from the Shapeshifters record that I want to share. I’ve enjoyed hearing and seeing your responses [on Facebook], and I’m surprised at how many folks remember the band. This one’s called “Rock City.” It was kind of a novelty song and no doubt our most requested number. I played a Les Paul through a ’74 Marshall Super Lead ll and a 4×12 cabinet. It was recorded live into a Fostex 8-track reel to reel on a hot summer night in Nashville. “So for those of you who are ready to take that next evolutionary step backwards… step right on up!”
